Enriching WordNet with Qualia Information
نویسندگان
چکیده
At the present time the distinction between compatible versus incompatible co-hyponyms and polysemy versus homonymy is not expressible in WordNet. We aim to enhance WordNet’s expressiveness, through GL inheritance patterns. Hyponymy will then be reflected in the qualia structures shared by the hyponyms and the hyperonym.

What do we need to know about humans? A view into the DanNet database
The first version of the Danish WordNet, DanNet, was released in March 2009 under an open source license similar to the Princeton Licence (cf. www.wordnet.dk). In order to present and discuss the set of encoded semantic information in a focused form and with some empirical data, we dive into a specific ontological type in the WordNet, namely humans. We present and discuss the information types ...
متن کاملStudying the role of Qualia Relations for Word Sense Disambiguation
This paper studies the importance of qualia relations for Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD). We use a graph-based WSD algorithm over the Italian WordNet and evaluate it when adding different kinds of qualia relations (agentive, constitutive, formal and telic) taken from PAROLE-SIMPLE-CLIPS (PSC), a Language Resource based on the Generative Lexicon theory. Some qualia relations, specially telic, a...
متن کاملAutomatically Learning Qualia Structures From The Web
Qualia Structures have many applications within computational linguistics, but currently there are no corresponding lexical resources such as WordNet or FrameNet. This paper presents an approach to automatically learn qualia structures for nominals from the World Wide Web and thus opens the possibility to explore the impact of qualia structures for natural language processing at a larger scale....
متن کاملEnriching WordNet concepts with topic signatures
This paper explores the possibility of enriching the content of existing ontologies. The overall goal is to overcome the lack of topical links among concepts in WordNet. Each concept is to be associated to a topic signature, i.e., a set of related words with associated weights. The signatures can be automatically constructed from the WWW or from sense-tagged corpora. Both approaches are compare...
متن کاملIntegrating Conceptual Density with WordNet Domains and CALD Glosses for Noun Sense Disambiguation
The lack of large, semantically annotated corpora is one of the main drawbacks of Word Sense Disambiguation systems. Unsupervised systems do not need such corpora and rely on the information of the WordNet ontology. In order to improve their performance, the use of other lexical resources need to be investigated. This paper describes the effort to integrate the Conceptual Density approach with ...
